10 World Trade sits in Boston’s Seaport district and is positioned to provide dramatic views of the city’s skyline while being a dramatic addition on its own. The building’s flared sides and open-concept lobby make it stand out in a city that, as one of America’s earliest, embraces both the new and the old.
That unique shape of the building and the desire of the designers to keep the space on the bottom floors open made steel and steel decking the obvious choice for this project. Additionally, the developers and engineers have been focused on earning sustainability certifications (SITES, LEED and WELL Gold as well as WiredScore and SmartScore Platinum), making steel—with its high recycled content and ability to be reused—a clear choice.
